In Tenerife, the prices of renting a boat will vary depending on the season in which you would like to rent. The sailing season runs from April to October with the peak months being July and August. Do you need a license to rent a boat in Tenerife?

To rent a motorboat with more than 15hp and a length of more than 5 meters, a license will be mandatory. In case of a sailboat, if the boat is longer than 6 meters, then you’ll be required to hold a license. In either case, you will need to present a nautical CV that shows your previous sailing experience along with the waters you’ve navigated. If you do not hold the necessary qualifications or experience, you can always choose to rent a boat with a skipper.
