Best time to hire a boat in Albufeira

Portugal has good weather all year round and quite elevated temperatures compared to many neighbouring countries in Europe. The best weather is during the summer in the high season during the months of July and August. But we recommend visiting Albufeira at another time of the year as a lot of tourists visit during that period of the year.

The best time to visit would be in spring or fall. These seasons have great temperatures and you will be a lot less bothered by other visitors. Renting a boat will be easier too with more availability!

What is the price to charter a yacht in Albufeira?

Prices for boat rental in Portugal may differ depending on the type of boat but also its size and other external factors. Indeed, renting a catamaran or large motorboat can come a lot more expensive than hiring a smaller sailboat. You will also have to look at extra costs such as fuel if it is not included in the price or a skipper if you need one.

The price will also change when the demand is higher. This is why we recommend that you rent a boat in the low season.

Will you need a boating licence in Albufeira?

If you want to rent a boat smaller than 15 meters long and with a maximum speed of 12km/h you will not need a boating certificate. Make sure you look at local laws and regulations before chartering a yacht. It is always better to have the proper skills and certifications for renting a boat.
