How much does it cost to rent a catamaran?

The price of a catamaran depends on the size and the season. A typical rental will cost between 1,600€ and 8,000€ per week. An average rental will be approximately 3,500€ a week, but it is also possible to rent by the day which will average to about 600€ a day. Do I need a license to rent a catamaran?

It is not necessary to have a licence to operate a sailing catamaran in France. However, a nautical CV attesting to significant experience on this type of boat is required. In other countries, you will need to have a license as well as previous charter experience. For example, Croatia requires a license and a VHF certificate to rent. If you have no experience, it is possible to rent a catamaran with a skipper (captain). Because of the size of most catamarans, charter companies and owners will expect plenty of experience sailing with similar type of vessels. Captaining a catamaran requires some practice so chartering with a skipper would be the best idea.
