All the islands have their charm, but the distances are long and rarely less than 8 hours of sailing with average sailing speeds above 7 knots. Always plan to take in reefs as soon as you see the changes when leaving an island.

The route we decided on with Fuertecharter was great. However, the navigation is a bit long between Arrecife and the Graciosas Islands. Big collective crush on the island of Graciosa where we would have liked to stay one more day. The navigation area allows you to see many dolphins, magical moments but there are very few wild anchorages and we have to go to ports where we cannot swim. So small regrets for not having been able to take sufficient advantage of the kayaks and paddles. In short, a very exotic and wild destination. To recommend

It was a magical day. Took my girlfriend on the boat for our anniversary with Christoph and Maria, who were incredibly hospitable and you could feel that they love what they do which makes the experience that much better. They made us a little tapas selection, wine cava etc. I want to thank chtistoph and Maria once more, will definitely be going again when we are back in gran canaria. Thank you guys see you soon. X

Jani and Tania are amazing hosts! I could not recommend this any higher. We were a total of 6 adults and 2 infants. Jani picked us up at our resort and drove us back after the trip. During the trip, they served us great drinks and terrific tapas. The boat was nicer than we had expected! Super nice boat with loads of space and two bathrooms️ Thanks, Jani and Tania

Exactly what I was looking for. Had a last minute switch to sister vessel "Papoa," as Papoa was having her sails repaired. Great platform for 4 people, the Sun Fast is surprisingly quick especially in light winds, we were regularly sailing over 7 knots in flat water, and surfed over 9 knots on our crossings. High performance Harken winches, great quality lines and clutches, three reef points in the main, well maintained boat. Burned less than 80 liters during a full-on week of cruising in varied wind conditions. Easy to handle and well-equipped. Francisco was wonderful to work with, easy to contact and straightforward. Highly recommend.

What a fantastic crew! Had the most fun. It was so easy to communicate with Daniel, who didn't only give me detailed instructions on how to reach to the boat but also modified the timings of my booking to suit my needs without any hassle. I had the best experience! I'd recommend him and his boat for anyone looking for a fishing experience around los cristianos or for whale and dolphin sighting. Plus, they offer snacks and drinks which made this whole experience even more enjoyable. Thank you, Daniel, will definitely repeat!

Jesus did everything i asked of him and more to make my 50th birthday celebration one to remember. He decorated the boat organised and cooked all the food and was an excellent host. Would definitely use him again in the future

Second time for us on this lovely boat and we had another lovely day out. Juan and Dani were brilliant hosts, making sure we had fun and were safe at all times. Juan was fabulous with our two children helping them fish and inflating the huge new slide for them to enjoy. Food was great. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic service from start to finish. Superb boats perfectly suited to spending a day on the water. We went as far as Papagayo Beach then worked our way back along all the beaches and snorkeling areas in the way back to the Marina Rubicon. Very friendly staff who took care to explain everything needed to use the boats safely and still have fun. They even came out to check on us once just to make sure we were happy with everything. This was a faultless day out on the water in charge of our own boat being able to go where we wanted for as long or as short as we wanted. I can not recommend this service enough! Great boats, great staff with easy friendly service.

Great and relaxed trip. We enjoyed sailing, swimming and learning from the skipper. Great treatment with our 11-year old.

A recommander

Renting a boat in the Canary Islands

The Canary Islands are among the most popular holiday destinations in the world with its excellent climate and diverse islands. You can rent on a boat in almost all of the main islands such as Tenerife or Gran Canaria. You can choose among sailboats, motorboats, and catamarans in the Canary Islands that allow you to sail with or without captain. Depending on your qualifications, you can either rent a bareboat or with a captain if you lack experience or want a stress free vacation. A day trip on a boat in Spain will surely make your holiday unforgettable.

Pricing and information about hiring a boat in the Canary Islands

Thanks to the location of Canary Islands and its excellent weather all year round, booking fees are typically constant throughout the year. However, as Canary Islands are a very popular holiday destination we recommend book charters in advance. Be careful when you are planning your holiday, to check whether the boats are available for day trips or only for a week charter!

On average, you can expect to pay around 220€ per day for a sailboat in Tenerife. For motorboats, the range is very wide depending on your needs. The boat available ranges from luxury yachts to fishing boats, so it is recommended to sort by the type of activity you will partake in and which island you choose to go. Motor boats start around 200€ per day and it will depend on what your specific project is, how many passengers and how far you would like to go.

Do you need a license to rent a boat in the Canary Islands?

Whether you need a license to rent a boat in the Canary Islands, will depend on what type of boat you are renting. There are two cases when a license will be required. Firstly, if you rent a motorboat with more than 15 horsepower and more than 4 meters in length. Secondly, if you rent a sailboat over 5 meters in size.

If you do not have enough experience or want a stress free vacation, most boats come with the option to have a captain. An added perk of hiring a local captain is their knowledge of the must see places. Since most captains are local, they will be able to show you the hidden gems of the area and you can just sit back and enjoy the beautiful views.

Overview of the Canary Islands

The Canary Islands are a Spanish archipelago located in the Atlantic Ocean, southwest to Spain, northwest to Africa. It is an autonomous community of Spain and is among the outermost regions of the European Union. The archipelago consists of 7 main islands such as Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and a couple of smaller islands. Each island has its unique features and is rich in natural beauties and diverse landscapes. Such as amazing beaches, remaining cones of long-extinct volcanoes, mountains, and national parks.

The Canary Islands have joint capitals of Santa Cruz on Tenerife and Las Palmas on Gran Canaria. Due to its geographical position, the Canary Islands have an all-year round excellent climate and warm temperature, which makes it possible to visit anytime throughout the year. However, if you want to avoid the islands to be full of tourists, the best time to go is between March-May and from September to November.
