The boat was new, clean and easy to drive, had built in bluetooth speakers, mini fridge and a shower head. Communication with Nico was great, would definitely rent again and suggest you to do the same.

We had an amazing experience renting this boat! It was spacious, comfortable, and perfect for our group of six, with enough room for even a few more people. The boat was clean, well-maintained, and made our trip really enjoyable. The price was also excellent and offered great value for the experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable boat rental in Taormina!

Highly recommended. Although we had a mechanical problem as soon as we left the port, they quickly arrived with a newer boat and replaced it for us promptly.

We had a very good charter with Matteo! The weather was not the best but Matteo took us to some good spots for us to snorkel and relax in the water. Would recommend 10/10

Stromboli, Panarea and Salina are important destinations. A start from Palermo with a city tour before and after the sailing trip is recommended. The relaxed and inexpensive journey by (new) train to Capo d'Orlando is also recommended. By taxi or shuttle you would pay up to €400 per trip. By train it is only €14 per person. There are even taxis that cooperate with the port and take sailors to and from the port for €5 per person.

This is the fourth time we have sailed in the Aeolian Islands and it is always a great pleasure even if we would like to have a little more wind.
C'est la quatrième fois que nous naviguons dans les îles Éoliennes et c'est toujours un grand plaisir même si on aimerait avoir un peu plus de vent.

Lipari and Vulcano are beautiful to visit, absolutely better by boat to enjoy beaches that are difficult or inaccessible from land.
Lipari e Vulcano bellissime da visitare assolutamente meglio in barca per poter godere di spiagge difficilmente o non raggiungibili da terra.

Planning your boat rental in Messina Regional Unit in Italy

When you're ready to choose a boat rental in Messina, proper planning is essential for your Sicily trip. This metropolitan city provides good access to the Mediterranean waters, making it a practical destination for your charter experience. Before you rent, consider your group size, preferred boat type, and duration of your time on the water. Prices change based on the season and type of boat, so it's smart to start your search early to find the best fit and deal.

Weather patterns influence your rental experience. Low season months offer calmer conditions and lower prices, making them suitable for budget-conscious travelers. Summer offers great weather for sailing, but expect more crowds and higher rental costs. Spring and early fall provide balanced options - pleasant weather with moderate rental rates. Consider that low season may limit some charter options, but you'll have quieter waters and better availability.

Popular sailing destinations to visit from Messina

Messina serves as a good starting point for several Italian coastal areas. The Aeolian Islands are a popular destination, offering volcanic landscapes and clear waters suitable for sailing. These islands provide beautiful scenery during your trip.

From Messina, you can reach Stromboli, Vulcano, and Lipari, each offering different features and good anchorage points for your charter in Messina. Along the Sicilian coast, you'll find excellent destinations including Capo d'Orlando with its marina facilities, the historic town of Taormina perched above the sea, and the Furnari and Patti coastal areas.

Types of boats available for rent in Messina

The boat rental market in Messina accommodates various preferences and budgets:

  1. Sailboat options provide the traditional sailing experience for those who prefer wind-powered navigation.
  2. Motor yachts offer speed and comfort, suitable for covering more distance during your rental period.
  3. Catamaran rentals provide stability and space, making them good for families or larger groups.
  4. Motorboat are ideal for day trips, while yachts deliver a luxury experience with added comfort and services.

No matter which option you choose, renting a boat in Messina allows you to enjoy the beauty of Sicily's coastline from a unique and unforgettable perspective.

Bareboat or crewed: choosing the right charter option

Your charter choice depends on your experience level and preferences. Bareboat rentals give you complete control to captain your boat, but require proper sailing qualifications.

Some options include a professional captain who handles navigation and safety, allowing you to focus on enjoying the beautiful scenery. Many visitors to Sicily choose crewed charters, particularly when exploring waters around the Aeolian Islands.

Licensing and qualifications for renting a boat in Messina

An International Certificate of Competence (ICC) or equivalent sailing license is necessary for most sailboat and motor yacht rentals. In Messina, Italy, you can rent boats without a license if they are under a certain power or length. To rent a boat in Messina without a license is also possible through crewed charter options. If you don't have proper certification, you can still enjoy the sea with a crewed charter.

Boat rental rates and pricing in Messina

Rental prices for boat charter in Messina vary based on boat type, season, and duration. Low season typically offers better value, with rates lower than peak summer months. Sailboat rentals generally cost less than motor yachts, while catamaran pricing falls between the two.

It may be required that you are to pay a security deposit, and fuel costs are typically separate from the base rental price. Weather conditions can affect availability and cost, so flexible planning helps secure better rates.

Tips for a successful boat charter experience

Success starts with choosing the right boat for your group size and experience level. Book the yacht charter early to secure your preferred dates and boat type. Communicate clearly with your rental provider about your sailing experience and destination preferences. Pack appropriately for sea conditions, and always prioritize safety equipment.

Whether you choose a sailboat, catamaran, or motor yacht, follow local regulations and environmental guidelines to ensure continued access to these waters around Sicily land.
