Amalfitana very beautiful, Amalfi and Positano completely overcrowded and lots of rip-offs. Seeing them once is enough. Marinas very expensive and poorly equipped, hardly any and then bad sanitary facilities.

A beautiful way to relax, swim and enjoy a day on the blue water that surrounds Bari. The captain and crew could not be more welcoming. It was exactly what we hoped it would be. I would recommend this experience to travelers ( and locals). Planning was not complicated, every question we had was patiently and clearly communicated, and accommodating our choices and needs. We are in the area of Fasano and Locorotondo for an event and this was a perfect relief from the heat and way to spend the day, 100 percent worth the drive, easy to find. Thank you very much to the delightful captain, if and when we are back in Puglia we would certainly do this again!

We had an absolutely wonderful time! We were three families with adults and children and there was more than enough space for everyone to feel comfortable and move around. We also enjoyed the chef aboard and could not suggest that addition enough. The food was delicious, the crew was so pleasant and and entire day was a dream. We would definitely charter a boat with Erica again if we are in Cagliari!

Our charter with Gaetano and Maria was great! Giuseppe organized everything for us ahead of time and was very accommodating throughout the process. They even picked us up at the marina near our villa so we did not have to go all the way to Sorrento. The boat was very clean and spacious; we had 12 people and it didn’t feel crowded at all. The snacks and drinks were delicious and Maria made sure everyone had what they needed at all times. We visited Positano and had lunch at a seaside restaurant near Amalfi which Gaetano organized for us. We also visited a few swim spots on the coast. At the last stop our boat has some trouble with the electronics. Rather than having to wait for repairs they called for another boat to take us the last 20 min back to our place. They were very apologetic, even though we barely felt any inconvenience. Our guest loved our charter and raved about the experience. We would highly recommend booking with Giuseppe and his crew!

First of all, the boat Sella3 was immaculate with very up to date technology. The Skipper (and owner) Andrea was brilliant! He chose routes that optimised our opportunities to sail (as opposed to motor) that always ended in the most beautiful bays for swimming and snorkelling. Our hostess (Emma) produced wonderful meals and saw to our every need! This was a holiday of a lifetime!

Fantastic experience chartering out of Golfo Aranci. It’s so relaxed and with less stress. You’re also immediately on your holiday as it’s a good hour north out of Olbia. Most importantly the boats were brand new and Roberto and his Barcando team were super nice and helpful. Such a great experience compared to some of the bigger harbour charter bases. Aranci is also lovely for your last night.

Stromboli, Panarea and Salina are important destinations. A start from Palermo with a city tour before and after the sailing trip is recommended. The relaxed and inexpensive journey by (new) train to Capo d'Orlando is also recommended. By taxi or shuttle you would pay up to €400 per trip. By train it is only €14 per person. There are even taxis that cooperate with the port and take sailors to and from the port for €5 per person.

The place is wonderful. You have to take into account where you spend the night. The marinas are few and small. When the forecast is bad they fill up. The staff at MY Charter kindly assists with reservations. I recommend planning your routes well in order to enjoy both the sailing and the night to the fullest. Positano at night and Nerano are not to be missed. Be careful with the lines if you stop in Positano.

Charter a catamaran in Italy with or without captain with SamBoat

Italy is a country in the south of Europe, with a long coastline overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. It is a country with a well-known culture and important gastronomy. One of the most important cities is Rome, which is famous for its ancient ruins and monuments. Also, the city of Florence has a huge popularity thanks to the masterpieces it has. Italy is rich in history and worth a visit once in a lifetime.

A unique way to discover Italy is to rent a catamaran and sail its vast coastline. One of the most visited cities is Naples, thanks to its culture and colourful architecture. Relax in the bay onboard a catamaran and enjoy the atmosphere. Spend your holidays sailing the Mediterranean Sea with your group of friends.

You can also rent a sailboat in one of the most famous Italian lakes, for example, Lake Garda. This lake is in the north of Italy and has crystal clear water. You can sail for one or several days. You will always find something interesting like the Roman villages. These villages have an interesting history and architecture. You will not regret sailing in this lake.

Catamaran rental in Italy

If you like to sail for several days, you can rent a catamaran and sail to one of the Italian islands. Create an itinerary to sail to Sicily, where you will find Palermo. One of the most famous cities for its architecture and puppet shows. Visit Mondello beach, famous for its crystal clear waters and fine sand. It is perfect for spending a whole day with your group of friends. Sicily has a lot of hidden beaches, visit them all onboard a catamaran.

Another sailing destination in Italy is the Adriatic coast. Onboard your catamaran you can visit the city of Rimini, famous for its nightlife and bars. Or if you are looking for a place away from the noise, you can sail to Bari and be amazed by the beauty of this city. Chartering a boat in Italy is the best way to visit its cities and discover its secrets.

How much does it cost to rent a catamaran in Italy?

In Italy during the low season, catamaran charter prices start from 270 euros. The prices vary depending on the season. The demand for boat rentals increases along with the prices during the high season. The busiest months in Italy start from May to September, have it in mind if you want to avoid the crowd.

To rent and enjoy any of the boats available in the catalogue, we suggest that you start searching two months in advance and start the process immediately. This way you will be sure to rent the catamaran that fits your needs.

Do you need a license to rent a catamaran in Italy?

In Italy, you will require an International Certificate of Competence (ICC) if you plan to sail more than 6 miles beyond shelter. It is recommended to have a nautical curriculum showing that you have previous sailing experience.

If you don't have a license, don't worry, you can still enjoy the sailing experience. You can rent any boat from the catalogue but with a captain. The captains can show you the best places wherever you are renting a boat.
