It is a small Eden of fine white sand beaches, coconut trees and crystal clear turquoise waters. San Blas is the real version of this wallpaper that we all have on our computer. Ask a child to draw a tropical island and they will draw you an island of San Blas, as simple as that! # THE KUNAS INDIANS ****************** The Kunas are a proud and independent people who gained self-governing status in 1925 which they still enjoy today. Divided between tradition and modernity, they have a rich culture and have a very friendly attitude with those who know how to display a respectful attitude. They are particularly attentive with the children they cherish. Do not hesitate to bring donations if you wish (notebook, marker, plastic-free toys, clothes, etc.). # HOW TO GET TO THE BOAT FROM PANAMA CITY *************************************************************** Whether you arrive by air or by land, the sailboat will be waiting for you at anchor where a taxiboat will drop you off directly at your sailboat. Provide waterproof clothing, and above all, protect your luggage with something waterproof (plastic bags or waterproof luggage). Don't leave your electronic devices unprotected. Please provide soft luggage (no rigid suitcases) so as not to clutter up your cabin. * Cash and money (USD$) ---------------------------------------- Bring cash as there is no ATM in San Blas. In Panama, ATMs charge you $5.50 in fees for every $250. Know that you can arrive in Panama with up to $9,999 in cash without having to declare anything. Do not do your currency exchange at the airport. Ask your taxi driver to take you to currency exchange points in town. * Telephone and internet ------------------------------ We recommend that you buy a Sim card from the operator Digicel which covers San Blas and buy top-ups at $5 per week for unlimited internet. Do not hesitate to ask your salesperson to help you to carry out the refill manipulation. * Snacks, alcohol and specific food ---------------------------------------------- If you wish, you are allowed to purchase these products before boarding. You can make these purchases in Panama City or directly in Puerto Carti in San Blas. We remind you that our offer includes cold beers (2 per day) and can also serve you quality drinks from our onboard cellar (French, Spanish or South American wine, West Indian rum, Gin, etc.) # EXCHANGE WITH TRAVELLERS **************************************** We will be happy to share with you our life as a sailor and our humble knowledge. What is this star? What was this green and blue fish? Why has the wind changed? How was crossing the Atlantic? How is a Polynesian ceviche prepared? # ONBOARD RULES ************************* A briefing and welcome drink will be organized upon your arrival to detail the following rules. -Be aware when moving on the deck of the boat so you don't hurt yourself, or worse, fall overboard -Listen carefully to the instructions of the crew during navigation and maneuvers -Use fresh water consciously and in moderation -Pay attention to the operation of the toilets on board -Rinse yourself with fresh water systematically so as not to bring salt inside the boat (shower on the back platform) -Dry your swimsuits and towels in the places provided so as not to clutter up the outdoor lounge -Do not wet the outdoor lounge cushions for your own comfort -Be careful not to make crumbs and not to drop food or trash on the floor -Show respect and concern for the Kuna Yala people -Feel free to bring school materials, clothes or games (no plastic) to help local people
