We had a fantastic trip with Cyril. He brought us to a really nice snorkeling spot and then to a small island for more snorkeling, swimming, relaxing. We had a group of 10 including 4 kids as young as 5. Everyone had an excellent time. We added food and drinks to our rental and were super happy that we did. Cyril’s daughter made delicious food from appetizers to entree to dessert. Rum was super. We got some good wind on our way back so sailed the whole way. Cyril was a great captain!! Thank you so much! Until next time!

We left from Marie Galante, then we went to Petite Terre… incredible! We saw lots of turtles, a leopard ray and barracudas. Then we left for Saint François and on the way we saw dolphins! Then we returned to Marie Galante. I highly recommend Petite Terre!!

Be careful when sailing at the end of the June season, on the stopovers, the majority of businesses are closed, which makes the stopovers less attractive. Otherwise, out of season, being able to enjoy Petite Terre all to ourselves was an incredible privilege. We left Pointe à Pitre, then direction St François, to admire the tip of the castles, direction Petite Terre (reservation of anchorage 48 hours before essential), then Marie Galante and the Saintes, and a return to the Gozier before returning the boat .

1. Canoe cove (on Marie-Galante) is a little paradise. Turquoise water and white sand. A postcard! You absolutely have to see. 2. Anchorage in Les Saintes. A view and a typically Caribbean atmosphere. Another must-have. They were our two favorites.
1. L'anse canot (sur Marie-Galante) est un petit paradis. L'eau turquoise et le sable blanc. Une carte postale! Il faut absolument voir. 2. Le mouillage aux Saintes. Une vue et une ambiance typiquement antillaise. Un autre incontournable. C'était nos deux coups de coeurs.

Sailboat rentals are popular, ranging from compact boats for couples to larger sailing yachts for groups. Motorboat options allow access to remote islands and fishing opportunities. Each boat type has different advantages compared to other boats, depending on your sailing experience and vacation goals.

Boat charter options in Guadeloupe

The bareboat charter options allow experienced sailors to explore Guadeloupe independently, providing freedom to create their own itinerary. This charter type requires proper sailing credentials and offers sailing experience for qualified sailors.

Professional captains have local knowledge, ensuring safe navigation while providing information about locations throughout the islands. Captain services vary depending on boat size and charter duration.

How to rent a boat with or without a license?

To rent a boat in Guadeloupe is simple, and non-licensed visitors can always hire a captain, if needed. Licensed sailors can easily rent a boat by presenting valid sailing credentials, while those without licenses can find boats with captain services readily available.

Charter rates fluctuate based on boat size, with basic sailboat rentals starting affordably while luxury yacht charters commanding higher prices. Additional costs may include fuel, provisions, and optional equipment.

Tips for your Guadeloupe sailing vacation

Pack reef-safe sunscreen for snorkeling and try local Creole food at waterfront restaurants.

Consider exploring other islands like Marie Galante and Sainte Anne for different experiences with their beautiful beaches.
