When to rent a boat in Mallorca

The climate of the island is typical of the Mediterranean with moderately low temperatures in the winter and extremely hot summers. Although this is the case on land, the temperatures of the water always stay moderate and enjoyable falling only to 14° C in the heart of winter. The best time to enjoy the season and sail in Mallorca is between April and October. During this time, you'll experience the best weather in Mallorca. As in most destinations, you'll find that July and August are the busiest months and the beaches and ports will be quite busy. If you visit outside of these months, you'll find more relaxed conditions and the weather will be almost the same.

For example, sailing during the busy months of July and August will bring up the daily and weekly rates of all boats. Do you need a license to rent a boat in Mallorca? 

When hiring a boat in Mallorca, there are specific cases where you will need a license to drive a boat. If you choose to rent a motor boat with more than 15hp and more than 4 meters in length, you will need to provide a valid license. For sailboats, you will need a license to charter if the boat is over 5 meters in length. Either way, you will need to provide a nautical CV detailing your previous experience in regards to what waters you sailed and what type of boats you captained.
