Von Rostock-Warnemünde aus bieten sich Segeltörns an der Außenküste nach Westen in Richtung Kühlungsborn oder nach Osten zum Darß an. Wer nach Osten segelt, sollte aber bedenken, dass es hier auf einer Länge von rund 60 Seemeilen keine Anlegemöglichkeiten gibt. Von Rostock kann man entweder direkt nach Dänemark oder in einem etwas weiteren Schlag nach Rügen oder Hiddensee segeln.
