We had an amazing experience with DYC. The whole trip ran so smoothly. We had a great captain on the boat, Ana. We were able to go to every island in our itinerary. The boat was in great condition. We even got a last minute upgrade to a bigger boat!

We are a family of 5, with my wife and 3 kids that chartered Serenity, third week of July. BY Far, our crew Magda and Andre, was the best we had in 5 chartered cruises we had in the past. After many experiences with chartered crews, I can say that once you choose the size of the boat, the most important factor that will make a difference in your trip is the crew. And believe me Magda and Andre, are the best couple you can have with you. Food was EXCELLENT, and the cruise round the islands was incredible. Always with a smile, always with joy, and never had a NO for an answer. Like my son said, it was like Magda and Andre, where hosting us in there home. It did not look as if there where working, it looked as if they where hosting us. Thanks, Magda and Andre, for the best boat vacation we ever had. You made the difference. Hope we come back soon.

Not having any specific ideas but not wanting to be in touristy places, he was able to offer us a special place where there was just us...
N’ayant pas d’idées précises mais ne souhaitant pas être dans les endroits touristiques, il a su nous proposer un endroit à part où il n’y avait que nous…

We left from Marie Galante, then we went to Petite Terre… incredible! We saw lots of turtles, a leopard ray and barracudas. Then we left for Saint François and on the way we saw dolphins! Then we returned to Marie Galante. I highly recommend Petite Terre!!

Great cruising area. We loved tintamare and fourchu. Check in and check out every time we change islands is a waste of time. We decided to do only 2 islands and not go to Anguilla because of that.

Catamaran rental - Caribbean

The Caribbean offers some of the most crystal clear waters and pristine beaches in the world, making it the perfect destination for a sailing vacation. A catamaran rental in the Caribbean provides an unmatched opportunity to explore multiple islands at your own pace while enjoying the comfort and stability that sailing catamarans offer.

The Bahamas, with its 700+ islands, stands out as a tropical paradise for sailing enthusiasts. From the British Virgin Islands to St. Lucia, the Caribbean Sea presents excellent sailing conditions year-round, allowing you to discover hidden coves like Harbour Island and experience marine life up close.

Choosing the right catamaran: models and options

When planning to rent a catamaran in the Caribbean, you'll find various models available:

  • the Fountaine Pajot catamarans are highly regarded for their comfort and performance, offering spacious layouts perfect for families or groups;
  • the Leopard catamarans also provide excellent options with their innovative designs and reliable performance;
  • modern catamarans ranging from 38 to 50+ feet come equipped with amenities like solar panels, spacious cabins, and fully-equipped galleys.

Depending on your group size and preferences, you can choose between newer luxury models or more economical options that still provide an amazing experience on the water.

Licensing and qualifications for chartering a catamaran

To charter a catamaran in the Caribbean, you generally have two options: a bareboat catamaran charter or hiring a professional captain. A bareboat charter gives you complete control of the boat but requires sailing experience and often a sailing license or certification.

If you're not an experienced sailor, a private catamaran charter with a captain is highly recommended. A local captain not only ensures safe navigation but also guides you to the best scuba diving spots, hidden beaches, and lush inland trails most tourists never see. Many charters provide excellent service, ensuring your trip is memorable.

Popular destinations for catamaran charter in the Caribbean

The Bahamas offers beautiful beaches and encounters with friendly pigs at Big Major Cay. The British Virgin Islands remain among the most popular destinations for Caribbean catamaran charter, with locations like Virgin Gorda and its famous Baths.

The St. Lucia's dramatic Pitons and rich marine biodiversity create a sailing experience that's as awe-inspiring as it is adventurous. You can visit rum distilleries, enjoy white sandy beaches, and explore underwater diving spots teeming with tropical fish. Many visitors choose to cruise around the island to take in its full beauty.

How much does it cost to rent a catamaran in the Caribbean

The average price to charter a catamaran varies depending on factors such as boat size, age, and whether you opt for bareboat or crewed options. High season (December through April) typically sees rates increase by 20-30%, while the low season offers more affordable options for budget-conscious travelers.

A day-long charter might cost {Startingprice}, depending on the catamaran size, or adding a professional crew that will increase this cost but provide a more relaxing experience.

Preparation and planning for the Caribbean catamaran charter

Proper planning is essential for a successful sailing adventure. Research the specific requirements for each island you plan to visit, as entry regulations can vary. Pack light but include essentials like sunscreen, light clothing, and seasickness remedies for your time on board.

Plan your itinerary to include a mix of sailing, beaches, and land explorations. The best Caribbean islands offer a blend of activities from snorkeling among marine life to hiking through lush rainforests. As the Caribbean remains one of the world's premier sailing destinations, it offers everything from white sand beaches to vibrant underwater ecosystems.

Whether you're an experienced sailor going bareboat or a traveler seeking the ease of a crewed charter, a Caribbean catamaran is your gateway to exploring paradise on your terms. Book your catamaran rental today and prepare for an adventure that combines freedom, luxury, and the incomparable beauty of the Caribbean islands.
