How does the damage waiver work?

We offer deposit buyback insurance in partnership with Gritchen or Mutuaide depending on eligibility.

In the event of a claim during the rental, this insurance can reimburse you up to €5,000 of the deposit. A residual excess will remain your responsibility (10% with a minimum of €200).

You can subscribe when confirming your booking, and up to the day before the first day of your rental, directly in your SamBoat personal account.
Subscribing to deposit buyback insurance allows you to reduce the pre-authorisation when you pay your deposit on the site. This option can only apply when the deposit is managed by SamBoat.

As a reminder, the reduction in pre-authorisation does not release you from being liable for the full deposit in the event of damage.
